Efficient grazing is key to maximising productivity on many farm systems. Regular, weekly grass monitoring using a plate meter is essential and will allow you to determine when paddocks should be taken out for silage or brought into the grazing round early. Plate Meter Range
The Jenquip Manual Folding Plate Meter is low cost and works well, but does require meter readings to be converted into pasture cover values (usually back in the farm office). For each paddock measured, two counter readings need to be written down in an all-weather notebook.
The Jenquip Electronic Plate Meters, EC-09 and EC-10 are easier to use. The instant readout is also great for training users to assess pasture cover ‘by eye’. All the calculations are completed for the user. Therefore only a single value needs to be written down for each paddock. The EC10 has the functionality to store data to be downloaded to a PC later.
The Jenquip EC20 GPS Plate Meter connects via Bluetooth to an Android and IOS App. The EC20 Plate meter is ideal plate meter for integrating with Agrinet.
Basically the main elements of the Plate Meters are identical – it’s only the counters that differ. The Jenquip Plate Meter range are well proven, are high quality, accurate and reliable rising plate meters and we don’t recommend one meter over the other.
